My Danny is 6!!

My baby is 6!! I keep saying this and yet it doesn't seem very real. I am not sure where the time has gone. Yet SOOO much has changed since this time six years ago. Danny has always been a HUGE blessing in my life. He is the child that is most like me (I guess the one my mother wished on me many years ago). I just hope that as he grows his decision making abilities will be better than his mothers!

Danny proved from the very beginning that he wanted things his way. He turned transverse right before I was supposed to give birth and then when we were at the hospital for the C-Section he turned again and so I had him naturally. That was my first clue that he was going to potentially be a tad bit difficult. Not difficult really......just challenging. ;-)

I was given a blessing before he was born that said that he and I would have a very strong and special bond. I am sure that is because I understand him. The way he thinks just seems to make sense to me.

I told him this morning that I was so glad that he chose to born to me so that I could share his life with him and he could share his life with me. Course all I got was a little puzzled look and a "umm...ok". But it is so true! I love watching him and listening to him (especially when he doesn't know I am listening). He is so loving and always tries to be helpful. We were dropping my mom off at home the other night and he said "Grandma, I will hold your hand and walk you to the door since I know you don't see very well in the dark."

So on this the day of his birth (and most other days), I am proud to be his mom! I love you Danny!! Happy 6th Birthday!!

aawwww!He is a cutie. I totally feel the same way with Koltin. Adam thinks he is my little clone!=) It fascinates him that I know exactely what he is thinking when he is thinking it!

At our Enrichment we had a "Celebrate Her" night. It included tables to display our talents and then a talent show. A group of us got together and performed Dancing Queen like in Mama Mia. Gerald Shepardson has passed away.

Jennifer is a bit preoccupied with assisting her sister with the formalities of the passing of a loved one, so I hope I don't do any disservice to his memory by writing this blog post. Gerald, Gerry, or Papa Bear as Jennifer lovingly called him, is Jennifer's father. I believe he passed away on June 24th, 2008. He was 80. Grandpa Shepardson was a very talented man, a concert-level pianist and very intelligent. He did a wonderful job of preparing Jennifer to marry me, because he loved music, photography, thrift shopping, "STUFF", dry humor, bad puns, reading, sharing the knowledge of his passions, and sarcasm. I love him and was sad to hear of his passing. I'm not sure if I expressed to Jennifer my admiration for her father, but I certainly hope she knows that I have always felt him to be a kindred spirit from the day I met him face to face. We love you Papa Bear! You will be missed.

That camera adds 10 pounds, right???

.: (You really should read this first!) :. With the end of my pregnancy drawing near I wanted some pictures taken so that I could remember my belly in all its glory. Now, I know that I am huge....but I don't think I realized how huge I was until I saw the pics. See Andie - I promised!! Now, these have not been touched by Greg's handy dandy program that makes all bad things disappear - hence the reason my arms are still fat. :-) But this is me in all my glory. Everyone is amazed that I am willing to post them... but I actually think it is amazing what the body does when you are pregnant and I think it is fun to look at them. I am scheduled to be induced next Wednesday, June 11 th . So I am glad we were able to get the pictures taken before then. I saw a picture of a pregnant belly with a child's hand on it and tried to duplicate it. Kendall was sleeping so there are only 4 of the children behind me.
